Sweden’s princess Madeleine got ‘law-ally and royally’ wedded to British-born financier Chris O’Neill this week. In a fairytale setting stood the glittering princess on one hand, wearing a stunning Valentino gown and an enviable tiara with a cathedral veil. On the other, sharing the limelight was Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur dressed in the traditional princely Poshak from Rajasthan to bless the jubilant couple. The complete attire comprised of a Sherwani, Churidaar or breeches and a majestic pag or turban from Mewar complemented by traditional adornments. This majestic palace is located on the banks of serene Lake Pichola at 24.576°N 73.68°E, at an average elevation of 598 meters and provides a panoramic and breathtaking view of the city from its upper terraces. This majestic palace was built by Maharana Udai Singh II of Sisodia Rajput clan in 1559 and his successor Maharanas (76 generations) over a period of next 300 years.
