Posted by on Friday, October 11th, 2013

Family businesses represent a predominant form of business organisation in the world. These heterogeneous enterprises offer a challenging array of issues to study and are beginning to receive substantial scholarly attention.

CII-FBN India Chapter is organising the 1st Next Generation (NxG) International Convention on Family Business on ‘Step Up: Taking the Family Business to the Next Level’. This is an annual event for Next Generation members of Family Business at Taj Exotica in Goa during October 24-26, 2013.

The international convention, the first of its kind being organised by the Chapter, will draw the participation of young family business leaders in the age group of 18-40 years. The convention, patterned on similar conventions held by FBN International, will provide a powerful platform to Next Generation Family Business leaders from across the country to share their experiences as well as discuss some of the most pressing issues concerning their role in business. It will have a sizeable international participation and several prominent Next Gen leaders from different countries shall be seen addressing the audience and sharing case studies. The three-day event will direct attention on diverse themes of interest to young business leaders, such as social media, viral marketing and brand building. There will be panel discussions on topics like ‘New Leaders – Building Credibility & Trust in the Family Business’ and ‘Outside Work Experience vs Joining Family Business Directly’. Besides, participants will be introduced to the ‘New Leaders Circle’.

Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur, Trustee – Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation will present a case study from an Indian perspective. Mr. Raju Mansukhani, Consultant – Media and Communications – MMCF and Mr Mayank Gupta, Deputy Secretary – MMCF will also be present at the convention. Industry giants like Barclays Bank and Godrej will be seen sharing insights. The convention will conclude with a gala dinner at Radisson and pubbing at Titos. When in Goa, Titos is a must, isn’t it?
